Greenlife Grocer

Why do I go to this natural foods supermarket on Merrimon Ave? Probably to check the variety, since I mostly shop at Earth Fare's flagship store at Westgate shopping center off 240.

Two gripes with Greenlife: one, no labeling of what is, or is not, organic at the salad bar, and two, why is the water not all reverse osmosis?  I heard the lattes and cappuccinos are made with RO water, but the regular coffee is laden with fluoride. Hey Greenlife, when the problem is solved let us know.

Earth Fare, South Asheville

When they get up to 25 stores, let me know. Hey, it's just a store. Their latest in South Asheville, is clearly earmarking the rich. I'm think of wearing a suit jacket when I go in their very large place on Hendersonville Rd. in South Asheville's Skyland section.

VIRATO LIVE!

Well, he did it as well, back after 10 years off the air in Asheville, our favorite swami is back. His radio show has world-wide listeners. In these few months Virato has brought to these mountain airwaves (and computers world wide) notables including Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, James Redfield, Ram Dass, Tommy Chong, Jose Arguelles, Byron Katie,  JZ Knight, Greg Braden, Rupert Sheldrake, Bruce Lipton and too many others to list here.

Broadcast on Clear Channel's 880 AM The Revolution, in Asheville, NC, it has done more to present higher consciousness, than any other medium in the city. The show is mildly political, and Virato is refreshingly candid. It's a rich talk show, bought to the air every Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM. Be sure to catch Virato' enchanting meditation at 10:06 AM to 1 PM Saturdays

Asheville Magazine periodically choose a person, place, concept or philosophy in greater Asheville, and places it under a spotlight for your notice. In most cases it is positive, and in some rare cases it may have the flavor of Kali ...the destroyer.
