In 1995 Virato hosted his own radio program,
New Frontier On The Air,
Saturdays on WSKY in Asheville,
NC...the last local consciousness program heard throughout
the Asheville mountains. It was then that Virato felt he should
"walk his talk," and in a vision decided to cease printing New
Frontier Magazine on paper, and went 100% cyber. Soon after,
WSKY was purchased by a fundamentalist coalition that
immediately terminated Virato's popular program ending
Virato's airborne rhetoric until January 2005.
He spent the next decade travelling, including many times to Russia The dance continues... On January 23, 2010 his radio program, VIRATO LIVE! entered its 6th year of broadcasting on WPEK, Asheville. However, on January 25, just two days after his 5th Anniversary, Clear Channel Communications, Inc., immediately terminated VIRATO LIVE! Reasons given were economic. Some say he was too controversial...especially to certain corporate and religious factions.
Five years and now a new medium for Virato, a hybrid of radio, television, and the Internet within a non-commercially driven multi-media presentation. Think of it as an expanded form of communications.
