I have been practicing for nearly 20 years and specialize in Driving While
Impaired cases. In my experience,
judges will generally credit inpatient treatment day for day towards any jail sentence imposed in a Driving While Impaired case. The
judge will often also order a shorter active sentence if he has compelling evidence that the defendant is serious about addressing his or her substance abuse problem.
Oasis Mountain Wellness Center offers a unique approach to meeting these needs. The fact that it is not a twelve-step program is a valuable asset and may allow the program to be a success with a wider range of people.
