2020 was going to be a banner year for the team at Pickle Licious. After appearing on multiple “Best Pickles in New Jersey” lists, their retail business and farmer’s market presence were thriving. Then the pandemic hit. Like many consumer-facing businesses, the post-COVID landscape forced them to re-evaluate their web presence and build a focused e-commerce platform to grow their business online.
Solution
First, we created a new customized website with a streamlined consumer experience and a confident, professional look and feel. Next, we converted their existing WordPress cart to the Shopify platform to make online shopping easy for both their customers and logistics This made tasks like adding/subtracting products, creating shipping labels, and managing promotions/shipping/returns more streamlined and easy to do. Finally, we developed a search-based Google Ads strategy, linking their individual products to Google Ads, Google Shopping and a new goal-based Google Performance Max campaign.
Results
The new website and the search campaign delivered immediate results. Within 5 months of implementation, the brand had attained a broad national reach and was converting at a 7.85 return-on-ad-spend (meaning for every $1.00 spent on advertising $7.85 in product sales was generated). Even more importantly, the client was able to focus on the pickles while the website and the ad campaign created organic growth with an increasing ROI. These are results any business would relish…and that’s a really big dill!
