Given the right situation, a well-thought out and well-executed digital ad campaign can be extremely effective. Case in point: a few months ago, we set up a new Google Ads (formerly AdWords) campaign for our client, Pickle Licious, by combining their Shopify cart with a new Google Performance Max campaign. Here are the latest results:
- March Return on ad spend = $4.18
- April: Return on ad spend = $6.85
- May: Return on ad spend = $7.58 (meaning for every dollar they’ve spent on advertising so far this month, they sold $7.58 worth of pickles).
The Performance Max campaign is a new platform for Google. It takes the highest performing ads and sends them in targeted distribution across all of their digital channels including YouTube, display, search, and Google Maps. It’s been a great learning experience working in this new platform – the market research learnings are invaluable as we learn how our clients’ customers behave online, and it’s easy to control the budgets and campaign optimization as the campaign becomes more efficient over time like our Pickle Licious initiative.
